India vs New Zealand Live Score 1st Test Day 1: Rainy conditions in Bengaluru; no hint of toss in the second session
On Day 1, the toss was postponed at the Chinnaswamy Stadium due to the weather.
India vs New Zealand
Persistent rain in Bengaluru washed out the opening day of India's first Test against New Zealand, delaying the start of the second session. Toss has yet to take place. Play is slated to begin around half an hour early on Day 2, but the prognosis is also dismal. While it didn't rain fiercely for most of the day, the drizzles were persistent. When it did, there was a rush of activity on the ground, but the rains returned just as things began to seem promising. With the Chinnaswamy Stadium's good drainage system, considerable activity is expected in this match, if not in the first two days.
The BCCI has just tweeted about the match, and Saba Karim returns to Jio Cinema with his transparent umbrella as the rain pours down again, and he reports that the announcement has been made over the stadium PA system. He goes on to state that officials are certain that if there is no rain tonight or tomorrow morning, play will begin on time. The action is planned to begin half an hour early, with the first session beginning at 9.15 a.m.
However, Anil Kumble claims that the outlook for tomorrow is not "rosy". He rightly predicted that the rain would worsen in the afternoon, despite the prediction stating otherwise, and the showers followed the former India captain's prophecy. All we can do now is hope for the best!
